Train 18 will be known as Vande Bharat Express, is the fastest and first train, indigenously manufactured by Integrated Coach Factory (ICF) Chennai, India.This is the first locomotive less train of India, propelled by electric traction motor like Metro.
The outer aerodynamic structure is inspired from bullet train and therefore increase the efficiency.
The semi highspeed train can reach up to 180 Km/hr yet the officials decided to run it at operating speed of 160 Km/hr concerning the conditions of tracks and safety.
The train all set to run between Delhi to Varanasi covering the distance of 755 km in 8 hours.
The Train 18 manufactured at a cost of Rs 100 crore, the 16-coach fully AC train will replace India’s fastest Shatabdi Express train.
